IRC North - For technology transfer

The IRC North team is multidisciplinary comprising scientifically qualified members of staff with several years' experience of working with companies to maximise their innovation activity and to assist in finding partners across Europe.

Martin McGurk - RTC North

Martin McGurk has joined IRC North as European projects manager. He will be responsible for encouraging international technology transfer agreements between partners across Europe. A graduate in mechanical and materials engineering from Newcastle University, Martin went on to complete his PhD in Wear Resistant Coatings. He has since worked for Peugeot and white goods company, Schott Glaverbal Group. Martin has also acted as a business improvement consultant for Rolls-Royce, SC Johnson, Filtrona, Pactiv and has managed automation projects for Nissan, Britvic, J.C.B., B.A.T. and Amylin Pharmaceuticals.
